My fitness path started as an endurance athlete, first as a marathon runner and then as a triathlete. I was later introduced to CrossFit Beautiful Disaster through several of my running friends who had joined. I always thought CrossFit would be too challenging and out of my comfort zone, but once I tried it I learned everything can be scaled to your level. I continued setting goals for myself to improve my workouts and techniques. I challenged myself and became a Level 1 Trainer and kids’ coach.
I love sharing my strong passion and enthusiasm to live a healthy life style with others. By combining my 14 years as a science teacher and my knowledge for health and nutrition I’m able educate and encourage individuals to reach their personal fitness goals. I’m continually learning how proper nutrition impacts sports through additional coursework.
As a CrossFit Kids Coach, I can reach kids in their formative years and encourage their excitement in reaching their personal fitness dreams. The experiences at the gym and in our afterschool programs provide great learning opportunities. Having two active boys myself, I know the challenges of ensuring kids stay healthy and active!
